Cut the queues with Cardless Checkout

We know how C-R-A-Z-Y your salon, spa or barbershop can get in preparation for the busy Christmas period. As soon as you hear those first few bars of Maria Carey start to play, you know there will be a flood of clients banging down your doors trying to nab last minute appointments, gifts and products.

Busy-ness can quickly spiral out of control if you’re not prepared, and one of the easiest ways to get prepped is erasing things off your to-do list and streamlining where you can.

Lucky for you, we’ve planned ahead to give you one nifty tool that’s going to make those long queues at your front desk disappear and help you get client’s out the door quick-sticks!

Cardless checkout is the new, Uber-style way of paying for an appointment. And she’s fancy.

You know the convenience of catching an Uber? You sign up and enter in your card details once, and from then on you can catch Ubers wherever and whenever you like!

Well, why should paying for a haircut or facial be any different? The answer – it shouldn’t!

How it works

With Cardless Checkout, your clients can show up, glow up, and go without having to line up at your front desk at the end of the appointment or ruin their fresh mani 💅 by digging for a card in their purse. The way it works is you can send your clients an invitation via email or SMS. When they click on the link in the invitation, they will need to agree to the T&Cs and input their card details which are then securely tokenized and stored by Stripe, meaning it’s a super safe way to take touchless payments.

At the end of your client’s appointment, you can simply charge the card they have on file and your client won’t need to stop by the front desk on their way out. But don’t stress about card security! A security check is sent via SMS to them which they will need to accept to prevent any mistakes with processing unverified payments.

Tips can also be processed through Cardless Checkout. After the initial transaction, a tip request is automatically sent to the client via SMS and email. The client can click the link and enter the desired tip amount and confirm the transaction. Their credit card on file is then charged for the tip amount and another email receipt is sent to the client.

Less card handling

While we’re on the topic of COVID (will we ever really escape talking about it?!), Cardless Checkout’s touchless payment method means a physical card doesn’t need to be present to make payment. Yup, that means there’s less card handling at the front desk, and fewer people using the credit card terminal throughout the day. And we all know how much reducing contact has been part of our countries efforts for fighting off this pandemic!
