July 31st, 2006 – Long Beach, CA – Jill Kohler joins the Shortcuts family and opens her premiere academy in Scottsdale, AZ.  Jill Kohler, beloved member of the industry for a long time through her work with The Salon Association and beyond, has turned her interest to her true passion for education. Wanting to shape the future of the industry hands on, Kohler Academy will open its classroom doors on August 15th.
“Kohler Academy was established to meet the great demand for qualified hair stylists and skin care therapists. With the right training and confidence, you can earn an incredible salary doing something you really love,” says Jill Kohler, founder and co-owner of Kohler Academy. With three programs, cosmetology, skin care and educator training, Kohler academy has employed hi-level educators and personnel to serve as mentors to the students. The 1,600-hour Cosmetology Program takes 11 months to complete, and the 600-hour Skin Care Program requires a 5-month commitment. The program for Cosmetology Educators is 650 hours and takes 5 months to complete, and the program for Skin Care Educators is 500 hours over 4 months. “At Kohler Academy, you’ll train at the highest technical and professional levels with a variety of select products, learning the skills that today’s top spas and salons are looking for,” said Kohler. Another point of difference for Kohler Academy is the use of field trips to explore the latest trends in art and culture at world-class galleries and museums, exclusive retail shops, and leading-edge salons and spas along with the E-Learning opportunities. This is a hands-on, motivating component that gives students more flexibility, as well as the chance to learn at their own pace and examine certain topics in more detail. Additionally, as more and more salons and spas become computerized, Kohler Academy’s E-learning will help graduating students perform a range of computer, reception, and management tasks throughout their careers.
