Questions and Answers:

Q) Were you aware of security being an issue for the salon before you had Shortcuts installed?
Yes, as I have several businesses, therefore I am not on the premises all of the time, so it was difficult to monitor security of data and of the business as a whole. Now, with Shortcuts, using the business log I can see who has been on the system and what they have done.

Q) What detrimental effect(s) was this having on your business?
At my Derby salon, before I had Shortcuts, I suspected a beauty therapist was stealing a large amount of money from the till. The problem was I had no proof. But, within six weeks of having Shortcuts, they were arrested and admitted 22 cases of theft.

Q) How did Shortcuts help you put a stop to this?
I used the business log to monitor their activity and found they were deleting appointments from the system and keeping the cash. I was able to monitor this from home, and other business premises, which proved to be invaluable.

Q) What were the main business benefits Saks Derby derived from these changes?
I feel that I now know everything that goes on in any of my businesses on a daily basis. And I know this would not be so without Shortcuts, I wish I had installed it years ago. Security is more than the loss of money, it can be client data, with Shortcuts you can restrict access to sensitive areas of the system and using the log you will soon pick up on unusual activity.
